Key Areas of Accountability
VHA's Talent Acquisition Specialist have the following key areas of accountability, but not limited to:
Plans, coordinates and implements all recruitment activities including posting jobs, sourcing candidates, reviewing resumes, conducting phones screens, performing interviews, checking references and background checks, creating and issuing offer letters, and onboarding new hires.
Designs job postings and place them with the most effective sources to attract candidates.
Conducts a thorough selection process, and keep accurate interview and evaluation records.
Selects employees in collaboration with the hiring manager or coordinator, coordinate start date, processes new employee documentation, and opens employee file.
Assists in identifying hiring needs based on input from all departments and future initiatives.
Monitors internal activities and external information to identify trends and impact on the organization.
Participates in team meetings with a commitment to contribution and service development and on project teams as appropriate.
Provide statistics and information for reports and decision making.
Required Qualifications:
Degree and/or certificate in Human Resources.
Minimum 3 years of Human Resources experience in full-cycle corporate recruitment.
Active participation in the Human Resources Professional Association development program preferred.
Knowledge and practical experience with employment legislation.
Experience in a unionized environment and knowledge of labour relations.
Demonstrated knowledge of ATS and HRIS (Workday experience an asset).
Experience in HR analytics is an asset.
Ability to integrate the use of technology to streamline work activities
Excellent interviewing, communication and presentation skills.
Strong computer skills in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Solid understanding of key HR concepts and how they apply to the workplace.
Demonstrated customer service and relationship building skills.
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
Demonstrated creativity and innovation in identifying unique methods for recruiting and selecting.
Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive work and learning environment.
Demonstrated efforts to continuously develop and upgrade skills.
