Principal Consultant, Ecologist (Principal Level) (Biotech)
ERM is seeking an outstanding professional to join our Vancouver, BC, or Calgary, AB office as an Environmental Subject Matter Expert - Ecology to support our Mining and Energy teams.
As a member of the team, you will act as a technical leader in western Canada, with capacity to conduct work in other jurisdictions across Canada. Work will include technical aspects in support of ERM projects in the mining and energy sectors. Tasks include supporting and organizing projects and associated deliverables for the terrestrial biodiversity team (e.g., vegetation and wetland scopes of work), acting as a liaison between project management and technical teams, interacting with clients and subcontractors, and tracking schedules and budgets. Technical tasks include acting as a QP in your respective field (e.g., vegetation and wetland biology) to coordinate and support the execution of field-based programs from a primarily office-based position. The successful applicant will have direct exposure to construction projects, environmental assessments, and mitigation planning as it relates to implementation of federal and provincial policies. More broadly, the applicant must show an interest in applying knowledge and skills to help our clients solve complex challenges in these sectors. For the Sr. Ecologist position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $109,733 - $139,883 CAD. An employee's pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above. This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
