Head Caretaker (Finance)
Sask DLC requires a permanent, part-time, Head Caretaker within the Corporate Services Division. Hours of work will be 6 hours per week. The position will commence on an agreed upon date with the successful candidate and will be based out of our Melfort Campus.
Reporting to the Accommodations Supervisor you will work independently 3 hours per day, 2 days per week, to ensure the maintenance and security of the Melfort Campus.
Duties
• Carrying out cleaning duties, such as the emptying of litterbins, cleaning external steps, paving, ramps and general external access routes
• Cleaning internal areas as required including checking on toilet facilities and cleaning; vacuuming all floor areas in office and open spaces; ensuring windows are cleaned on a regular basis
• Performing simple repairs and maintenance tasks
• Performing security checks for the building
Skills
• Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and report maintenance issues accurately and in a timely fashion
• Sweep, mop, floors and stairs, vacuum hallways
• Knowledge of cleaning materials and job-related tools
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety protocols within a work environment
• Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures

The starting rate for Head Caretaker is $23.53 per hour under CUPE 5544 (classification level 2).
