Software Developer (Information Technology)

Cayenta is seeking an enthusiastic entry-level Software Developer to join our software development team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of our next-generation Customer Information Systems (CIS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, which will include innovative AI-based functionality.

This is a fantastic opportunity for recent Computer Science graduates or those with equivalent experience who are eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in modern web technologies, enjoys tackling challenges, and is excited to develop both front-end and back-end applications.

You will report to the Director of Research & Development, with a preference for candidates based in Canada.

WHAT WILL BE YOUR NEW ROLE

• Build and maintain responsive, user-friendly interfaces for our next-generation CIS and ERP platforms using React.js.
• Collaborate with backend teams to design and develop scalable APIs and services, primarily using GraphQL and Go, with potential future work in .NET.
• Assist in integrating AI-based features into the platform, where Python experience will be a plus.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment.
• Debug and optimize application performance across the stack, ensuring seamless user experiences.
• Stay up to date with modern development practices, tools, and frameworks, actively applying them to improve our applications.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

• A recent undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of front-end development, including JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks such as React.js.
• Basic understanding of state management tools like Redux, React Query, or Context API.
• Familiarity with backend development concepts and programming languages, such as Go or a strong willingness to learn.
• Exposure to database systems (SQL or NoSQL) and designing APIs.
• Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to work in a collaborative team environment.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT

• Interest in transitioning or working with backend technologies like .NET in future projects.

• Understanding of DevOps concepts and experience with CI/CD workflows like GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
