Maintenance Manager (Maintenance)
Position: Maintenance Manager - NOC 21301
Reports to: Site Director

Position: permanent, full-time (40 hours per week).
Position summary:
Oversees all aspects of a facility's maintenance operations, including scheduling repairs, managing a team of technicians, ensuring preventative maintenance is performed, optimizing equipment reliability, and maintaining budgets to keep facilities and machinery functioning. The position is responsible for coordinating repairs, managing spare parts inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while minimizing downtime and maximizing asset lifespan. The Manager directs the short and long-term strategy of the Maintenance Technicians and Engineers to ensure the production operations are successful. The position is set to meet the company objectives and to ensure Thales' quality products are delivered on time by maintaining all production equipment in OEM condition while minimizing downtime and expense. Diagnosing equipment failures, coordinating repairs with vendors, and ensuring timely resolution of maintenance issue.
Job Duties:
Responsible for supporting and coordinating daily activities of the Maintenance Team according to the team's schedule and apply the necessary adjustments when needed according to current issues.
Developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules, prioritizing repair requests, and coordinating maintenance activities across different departments.
Must be able to support the maintenance team in collaborative, autonomous decision making to facilitate the team's self-directed improvements.
Responsible for managing, and maintaining spare parts inventory and budget associated.
Must be able to sustain an environment of continuous improvement to maintenance processes that result in advances in quality, yield, productivity, and lower costs.
Function as the SME and trainer in the application of various problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective action skills. Responsible for Investigating the root cause of issues that were escalated and provide information to Engineers and Project Leaders, as needed.
Leading and supervising a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, providing training, and evaluating performance. according to company policies including attendance, security, safety, corrective action, performance appraisals, etc.
As necessary, assign team members to tasks according to skill level for maximum shift efficiency.
Engage. Collaborate and Interface with Process Team Coach's regarding priority changes and equipment status.
Coordinating the improvement of the measurable metric objectives of the organization in the areas of equipment OPE, maintenance downtime, MTBF, yield, productivity, expenses, and any other metrics determined helpful to ensure a world-class organization.
Must be able to provide technical expertise to ensure continuous improvement of the Preventive Maintenance Program.
Must be able to perform all duties included in the Maintenance Technician role including but not limited to: Troubleshooting, Repairing, and maintaining all production equipment in OEM or standard operating condition.
Education requirement:
A bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or in a related engineering discipline
Experience requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of Maintenance experience within in Smart Card Personalization environment.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as Team Lead or Supervisor in maintenance in a Manufacturing environment.
Must be certified in Lean Six Sigma Green belt or above.
Experience with Proactive Maintenance and other TPM or related Integrated Six Sigma reliability programs
Must be certified in Datacard MX/MXD equipment and/or Artista VHD.
Demonstrate excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate ability to develop corporate/business relationship along with keen business acumen and a solid understanding of the maintenance environment and costs analysis.
Must be experienced in using specific maintenance tools such as s, power tools, saws, drill press, volt/ohm meter, oscilloscope, amp probe, soldering iron. etc.
Ability to use routine software applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
Ability to communicate effectively to convey instructions, directives, ideas, and goals to a diverse group of personalities.
Be flexible to work off-shift hours to support company requirements to cover the site 24/5 including 3rd shift (9-5 standard with flexibility to alter times to be present during 2nd and 3rd shift or weekends).
Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work, to work around machines, to climb and descend ladders, to operate a variety of tools and equipment.
Frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards. As part of the physical work must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and inspect work sites as well need to have the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.
Periodic working in exposure to noise, heat, fumes, dust, or wet environments.
Working with high voltages required.
Languages: Fluent or advanced level in English (both oral and written components).
Salary: $100,000 to $110,000 according to experience and qualifications. Plus, Annual Bonus of 10% as Variable Compensation.
