The Workforce Development Coordinator works in partnership with the VSY Workforce Development Team and reports to the Director, Workforce Development. This position also supports the wider operations department, including managers and supervisors, to coordinate and execute trades training strategies and to support recruitment efforts that generate a robust pipeline of qualified trades candidates. They are responsible for coordinating several corporate and trades-specific training programs, record-keeping management, and supporting recruitment initiatives that support the development of the VSY trades workforce and the growth in capability of our people.
Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.
What you'll do
Administratively manage, schedule and coordinate training programs for VSY workforce and front-line leadership.
Maintain detailed records in Learning Management System (LMS) -Oracle OLC - to track training records.
Lead reporting on LMS training data for operations teams.
Liaise internally with trade leadership to understand training requirements and areas for improvement.
Support recruitment efforts and perform detailed candidate telephone screens to confirm relevant qualifications and experience.
Support recruitment advertising and opportunity promotion initiatives.
Act as interface with trades employees ensuring a strong relationship and feedback loop maintained.
Monitors internal control, compliance, and regulatory guidelines (training and recruitment) are met.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
What you'll bring
Human resource management diploma, bachelor's degree in business or HR; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a high-volume administration capacity.
Recruitment experience in a technical/operational environment, ideally including recruitment experience in trades people, considered an asset.
Experience in candidate screening in large volumes of candidates, considered an asset.
Relationship building, communication, interpersonal and organizational skill.
Time management and organization skills with ability to juggle and reprioritize based on business demands and priorities.
Attention to detail with analytical skills.
Ability to work with limited direction and to function as a team member.
Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Experience working with Oracle HCM based system, considered an asset.

The estimated salary for this position is $72,700 - $87,200. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
